Private Client Services
Our Private Client Services practice provides legal counsel and related services to individuals, families, and closely held businesses. We advise individuals on transactional matters such as real estate acquisition, financing, and disposition; contract negotiation and formation; employment agreements; and will and probate administration. In the business context, we provide counsel with respect to issues such as entity formation and operation, partnership and operating agreements, business valuation, succession planning, and commercial transactions of all types, including contract negotiation, joint venture agreements, sales and distribution agreements, consulting agreements, employment agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
A significant portion of our Private Client Services practice is devoted to Sports & Entertainment law — a niche practice area for which GB Law Group has developed a strong reputation as a leader in the field. Many of the individual clients that we represent are athletes, coaches, entertainers, and industry executives. We routinely advise our clients on a wide variety of matters in this field, including contract negotiations, endorsement agreements, intellectual property and personal brand protection, real estate matters, and charitable planning.
For all of our clients, moreover, we offer more than just one-dimensional transactional advice. We understand that sometimes negotiations won’t suffice, and that our clients may be compelled to protect their personal and business interests through litigation instead. Accordingly, GB Law Group offers litigation and arbitration assistance as part of our Private Client Services practice. In that respect, we represent clients in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels, in domestic and international arbitration settings, at administrative hearings, and before various boards and commissions. Our attorneys have argued in Connecticut and New York trial courts, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the Connecticut Appellate Court, and various administrative tribunals. We represent our clients in business litigation, breach of contract actions, collections actions, real estate litigation, foreclosure matters, landlord/tenant cases, bankruptcy matters, personal injury cases, workers compensation cases, and family law matters. In terms of litigation, we are very selective in the cases that we accept: our goal is to protect our clients by compromise where possible, and litigation only when necessary.
